About

Blue Feather Base Camp

Empowering families navigating autism through outdoor experiences that foster connection, confidence, and community.

For families with autistic children who may struggle to step outside their comfort zone, the Blue Feather Foundation creates a space for them to become accustomed to these new and exciting experiences through watersports such as fishing, boating, and tubing.

“I honestly never thought Gabriel would be able to get on a boat, let alone enjoy it. He has a complex medical history, and the risk of overstimulation or seizures always made me too nervous to try. But Blue Feather created such a calm, supportive environment that I finally felt safe giving it a shot.

Gabriel did incredible—no seizures, and he smiled the entire ride. Seeing him so relaxed and happy on the water was amazing. It gave me hope for more adventures in the future. When we got home, he crashed hard in the best way—happy, tired, and proud of himself.

As a mom, a therapist, and a board member, I couldn’t be more grateful. This experience was more than just a boat ride—it was a breakthrough.”

“I’m so thankful for the experience Blue Feather Base Camp gave us. My friend Leannia, an adult on the autism spectrum, hasn’t stopped talking about tubing. She said, ‘That was one of the best birthday presents I’ve ever had.'

It was pure joy—something she doesn’t get to experience often. The care, inclusion, and fun you created meant the world to both of us. Thank you for making her feel so special.”
